Hola, Awesome Contributors!
It's been a while eh?! Honestly, it's been an incredible journey since May 2014. We had the sudden inspiration from our founder Kabir Sidhu who (in retrospect) luckily forget the combination to his luggage and spent an hour trying every combination.
Had it not been for a little stroke of serendipity, the idea for the World's Most Innovative Smart Lock may have taken just a little longer to grow. We started by smashing Kickstarter + Indiegogo - then it was creating the amazing AirBolt team, working on many prototypes - and finally releasing the AirBolt smart lock!
In 2017, we won a Good Design Award, recognising how unique and innovative our travel accessory is. So here it is - 4 wonderful, stressful, interesting and amazing years. We couldn't have done it without our awesome backers and customers supporting us every step of the way. We just want to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" for the last 4 years, and we can't wait to see where we head in the many years to come. We have new products in the works and when it's time we can't wait to share them with you!

Hi Awesome Contributors,
What a ride and a half it has been! There have been lots of tough times, and an immense amount of learning over the journey in bringing the AirBolt to life.
Bringing the AirBolt from concept, to being able to have them out there, in your hands has been extremely exciting and an absolute privilege. An amazingly rewarding process. Now, to officially say that we have fulfilled everyone's orders (well unless you still haven't filled out your survey - please do), is a great feeling!
It's wonderful being on the other side at the end of the Kickstarter Campaign, the very campaign which, with your help, helped bring the AirBolt to reality. We cannot thank you enough for your support, patience and belief in what we have been doing.
As the AirBolts continue to arrive at your doorsteps, we continue to work on improving the experience. We have had some amazing feedback and continue to learn from it. We are very proud to see that so many of you are having an amazing time with your AirBolt. It makes us even happier to hear that it has surpassed your expectations! That’s awesome to hear!
So What's Next?
We have been working diligently to get AirBolt into retail and grow globally. For example, you can already find us a Changi Airport (Relay Stores – go check it out), we launched on Touch of Modern recently, we are in retail in the BENELUX region, Thailand etc.
And Guess what!? We’ll be launching on the Grommet this Wednesday the 30th! Proud moment!

Finally, we’ll also continue to innovate and bring you news products. We always aim to think of our backers and customers when doing so, so when we do expand our range, we’ll look to, where it makes sense, adopt a modular approach e.g. expand your current AirBolt features modularly, do keep an eye out for it when we get there!

The AirBolt wins a Good Design Award for 2017!
We won a Good Design Award for 2017! We couldn’t be happier. Most winners will say things like, “we can’t believe this happened!” The truth is though, we hoped that the AirBolt would be recognised for its great design. When we started this company, we went in with the idea that we were going to design a great product that looked good, was great quality, but most of all, it makes our customer’s lives better.
That is what the Good Design award is all about. This world-renowned award has been given out to amazing products since 1958. The team at Good Design Australia has stringent assessments that are considered to be international benchmarks.
They looked at the AirBolt and judged it on its quality, form and function, and above all, how well it innovates.
The Good Design Jury said the following about the Airbolt:
“A very clever concept that offers an innovative approach to an age-old problem. The design is fit for purpose, it functions extremely well and offers users a whole new approach to luggage safety and security”.
How cool is that?! This award has inspired us to keep creating and keep innovating.

Important - Quick Firmware Note
Hi Awesome Contributors,
Just a quick note with the firmware update, if you decide to do it (no, its not mandatory and as long as you have version 1.6.18 or higher, you are running a stable version), please do not at any point, delete your AirBolt from your app!!
It seems that in some cases people are deleting it from their app instead of simply forgetting it from your phone's Bluetooth settings. This can cause issues whereby you can lock out your AirBolt as technically you are deleting it before the whole process completes. In this case, we cannot do much to assist as you'd likely block your AirBolt.
So please, we ask you to exercise caution and read the instructions fully before updating the firmware as it is an extremely sensitive process.
