Firmware + Shipping Update
Hi Awesome Contributors,
In about 1 hr, we will release a new firmware update with some minor software improvements, an increase to the number of presses you can have for your button code and a bug fix to our anti-tamper system.
It is really important that you read the firmware update instructions and understand it completely before updating your AirBolts firmware.
You can find the instructions HERE
Shipping Update:
While we continue to ship with the remaining stock in our warehouses. For those who still waiting for your AirBolts. We sincerely apologize. After the last update, honestly, we have much more trouble shipping than we'd expected.
Now this is mainly because of the battery laws which have totally forced us to re-look at our logistics. Lots of carriers are refusing carrier electronic items, without an EXTREME premium. This is via our current fulfillment partner e.g prices to ship one AirBolt exceeding the retail price of an AirBolt by a factor of two.
This has caught us by surprise, what we had signed up for, has completely changed. So our partners are furiously working to bring on new carriers with rates which are reasonable. In the meantime, this means we have had to completely stop all international shipping units going to the US and reroute all those units to Australia instead.
This is where the time has gone. We know you maybe frustrated as to why we didn't inform you earlier and our answer is because, we didn't have a solution that would work. Now we do but it still isn't perfect as Australia Post no longer offer tracking numbers for international shipments! However, apparently we should have access to DHL in no time. Regardless they are on their way, your AirBolt is allocated to you, and it'll be with you super shortly (ETA -expect to get shipping notifications starting end of next week on-wards).
Our apologies again - seriously!
SHIPPING ADDRESS:
This is an absolute last chance to change your shipping address for those to who it hasn't been shipped yet. We won't be able to refund or resend the units (unless we get them back + shipping charges) due to an incorrect shipping address.
NOTE: Please ensure that we send you a change of address confirm message/email. You can reach us via messages or at [email protected] to change your address. Ensure you put your backer number in the email.
Thank you, and we are on to it!

USER GUIDES + SHIPPING UPDATE
Hi Awesome Contributors!
We hope all has been well! Let's jump straight into it.
By now, lots of you have already received your AirBolts and we love all the feedback we have been getting.
Getting some aspects of the shipping logistics sorted has been a challenge (borderline frustrating as some carriers were charging ridiculous amounts i.e. in excess of $90USD to ship even one AirBolt - that to, to easy to access countries!). New battery laws have made cost effective and speedy shipping really difficult. We have had to quickly shift stock from warehouses and reorganize taking on quite a bit of extra costs on our end.
Regardless, we are getting there and it's a great feeling to see all of you loving your AirBolts and enjoying them. We are also taking the feedback you provide into account and planning our next app updates and improvements.
Thank you all for your Support so far!
U.S. SHIPPING
For those who are waiting on theirs, you likely fit into this 2nd batch of AirBolts. At this stage, we have undertaken more tooling refinements to remove the cosmetic defects. This has taken a little longer than expected however, we have a good number produced and ready to go.
We are just waiting on the testing green light from our manufacturers. Our aim is to begin shipping these out to the warehouse by end of this week. If all are not ready by then, our aim is to ship all the ready ones anyway. This will ensure shipping to the U.S. and other countries from that warehouse can begin without any further delay.
USER GUIDES
For those want details on how to set up their AirBolt , you can consult user guide here.
A couple of notes based on user experience:
1. There is a feature called Easy Unlock. This means that when in default mode and the AirBolt app is connected, all you have to do is press the left button on the AirBolt and it’ll unlock for you! You can change these settings and turn on high security mode by visiting the settings page. For types of unlocking see here.
2. Using the button code, is designed for Phone-less access. This means that when you enter the button code, it will work properly when no phone is connected. Otherwise, if you start entering the code when connected, pressing the left button will unlock it for you anyway.
3. When using Proximity Alerts, always start with Low Sensitivity mode.
That's it for now! Thanks again, keep being awesome

ANDROID + SHIPPING UPDATE
Hi All Backers,
Just thought we'd reach you to you and give everyone an update on Android.
We have noticed that a small percentage of connection issues arising from our Android App. The usually arises from the pairing process where by whilst it does pair, you are unable to perform any actions on the AirBolt after it changes from an "in-range" to "connected" state.
This can be quite annoying. The issue exists and can happen in about 5 % cases (from what we can see). However, it is 5% that shouldn't have it and we want to ensure that there isn't some underlying issue which could affect more users.
So we want to just do some deep analysis in case. For that reason, just for this weekend, we have put new Google Store downloads on hold (only for Android and new users). The impact of this is low as obviously weekend deliveries don't happen.
While the Android app has only been in development for about 2 or so months as we had to restart it, we have worked very hard to get it to this stage in such a short time. But there are bound to be some issues that we can only resolve over time. The way Android Bluetooth Stack has been implemented by Google is a bit finicky due to the sheer number of devices that use it.
I thank those you have reached out to us and provided us details and we do apologize for the inconvenience.
We expect to have it back on the Google store early next week. There is no impact on iOS
SHIPPING UPDATE:
As promised, Hong Kong warehouse is already shipping (and will continue to do so over next week) and the Australian warehouse has received the AirBolts. Expect Australian shipping to start next week.
I thank you so much for your patience,
