Production/Shipping and Android Update
Hi Awesome Contributors,
Hope you are all well. So as mentioned, here is a quick update to provide you with the latest in regards to where we are at and what has happened over the last couple of weeks.
PRODUCTION/SHIPPING:
Hmm, we are not ideally where we wanted to be. Due to Chinese New Years, our manufacturing partners have not been able to complete our production round in time, as some supplier staff and some of their own staff left a tad early.
This now means we have to wait until 12th of February for our manufacturers to come back and finish production off. We have however, completed more than 50% of production. So we are in a relatively decent position.
This does mean an approximate early March shipping to our warehouses and then out from there to you all. We do sincerely apologize for this delay however, there is honestly not much we can do as we are currently at the manufacturers mercy. They have assured us however, that they are doing their best and we don't have a reason to doubt them.
Very very close now!
ANDROID UPDATE:
We have been extremely busy working away with sorting out the next steps with Android and you'd be pleased to know that we have begun development work with a new team. We expect the basic app to be ready by the time the AirBolt ships. Features will continue to be added constantly after shipping in order to get it right up in line with iOS and the features promised.
We'll keep you posted as we move along.

SURVEY/SHIPPING ADDRESS LOCK OUT (IMPORTANT)
We are now setting our Survey full lockout date to the 15th of January 5pm AEDT. This means that you only have until this date to finalize your shipping address. We will not be allowing address changes after this date.

Survey Lockouts, Next Steps and More :)
Hi Awesome Contributors,
Firstly, we wish you all a very Happy New Year! Hope you all had a wonderful start to 2017.
Now, we am sure you are awaiting the latest updates from us. So lets get straight to it.
SHIPPING UPDATE:
At this stage, we are awaiting word from our manufacturers in regards to completion of our production cycle.
We expect this to happen between mid to end of month. Once we ship to our warehouses, we expect it to take a few weeks before it reaches them and then they will ship AirBolt's out to everyone :).
We'll keep you posted once we are ready to ship the AirBolt's out from our warehouses.
ANDROID DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
A few months back, we told everyone that our focus was now shifting from hardware to software. We at that time had really expected to be in a decent position in terms of our app development within a short time from that point. Whilst, this has been the case for iOS, unfortunately we have been let down too many times with Android Devs and the resulting app.
We won't go into full details, as we are not in the business of shaming but the first company we worked with went out of business (not anyone's fault) and the other two devs to follow never delivered on time, wasted our time and the code written has been extremely in-efficient (no, we did not outsource).
Honestly, this has been very frustrating for us as we have put in a lot of time, money and effort in getting the android written only to be left with very little to show. The money we spent hasn't come easy, a lot from personal savings!
Hence, today as it stands, we are not comfortable at all with the way the Android app works to the extent that we are likely to have to rewrite most of it. Whilst this hurts, we as a company want to ensure that we do the best we can in terms of providing a quality experience.
So, our plan forward will likely be to stagger Android features. We think this way, we should be able to avoid delaying the product release but it means that we will need to release Android features by way of updates. Start with basics and build from there.
We know this may be frustrating but it's the only option and solution we have at this stage.
We will keep you posted with app developments.

Hiii Awesome Contributors!
How is everyone? We hope everyone has been well!
So, this is the update everyone has been waiting for and hence, we'll get straight to the point.
We got the latest samples yesterday and we have approved them! YAYY! Such a relief, as it has been quite stressful going back and forth so many times. We are quite happy with the latest set, and the problems we faced have now been resolved. We just had to keep crossing off the checklist as we resolved each one.
HAPPY TIMES !!
We even managed to approve the Monza Red colour as well.
So What Next?
Ok, as we only just gave the approval, the timelines may vary slightly as we may be able to streamline some processes however, as a safe bet this what its going to look like.
Step 1: Produce a pre-production sample run by end of next week.
Step 2: Begin BETA (we will email those involved, but we will start with iOS first as we are implementing the security layers with Android)
Step 3: Mass Production December through to January (preparation for this begins at the same time as Step 1).
Step 4a: Shipping to Warehouses - expected to begin 4th of January 2017.
Step 4b: Shipping from warehouses to all our awesome backers :)
So at this stage, you will receive the AirBolt in January! (if we find a way to get it out quicker, we'll let you know).

OTHER NEWS:
We will be undertaking our first Trade Show in Abu Dhabi between the 23rd -26th of November! Do come visit us if you are around. We will be at stall M11. You can come and have a play with the AirBolt's there.
